The Law of Attraction is the heartfelt belief that the energy of our thoughts and emotions can draw similar energies from the Universe, influencing our experiences and outcomes. Manifestation techniques are tools that help us intentionally create what we desire in our lives.
10 of my favorite manifestation techniques include visualization, affirmations, vision boards, meditation, gratitude, scripting, acting as-if, setting intentions, the 55×5 method and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
Manifestation is all about aligning your personal “vibes” with those of your desires. I’ve used Law of Attraction for the last 16 years to manifest my desires, and trust me when I say – this stuff works! 🌟

1. Visualization
The Universe (and your brain) can’t tell the difference if you are imagining something or if you’re simply observing what is happening – observing your “reality.”
To put this into perspective of real scientific studies and not just the Law of Attraction: Studies using fMRI and other brain imaging technologies have shown that many of the same neural substrates are activated during visualization as when the action is performed.
In other words, when athletes visualize a specific activity, many of the same brain regions are activated as if they were physically performing the action. The brain cannot tell the difference between visualization & the actual occurrence of events.
Visualization is a powerful practice because it allows you to step into your imagination and visualize what it is that you desire, as if this desire is already manfiested! Through the art of visualization you get to align your energy with that of your desires.
How To Visualize
- Relaxed State:
- Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed.
- Sit or lie down, close your eyes, and take several deep breaths. Allow yourself to enter a state of relaxation.
- Decide on the focus of your visualization: what do you want to visualize? Having your dream job, your dream house, or meeting a partner? Focus on one main thing during a visualization.
- Engage All Senses:
- As you visualize, try to involve all of your senses. What do you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel in this manifested reality?
- The more vivid and sensory-rich your visualization, the more real it feels to your brain.
- Feel The Emotion:
- Connect with the emotions you’d feel if your visualization were your reality. If you’re envisioning success, tap into feelings of pride, happiness, and accomplishment.
- Emotional connection amplifies the power of visualization in line with the Law of Attraction, which stresses the magnetism of emotions. Feeling the emotion is key in making this a reality.
- Practice Regularly:
- For visualization to be effective, it’s beneficial to make it a regular practice. Daily sessions, even if they’re just a few minutes long, can reinforce your intentions and desires.
After this visualization practice, all you need to do is release and trust! Let go of any attachment to the outcome and trust that the Universe is working in your favor. Try to carry the feelings of having achieved these desires with you throughout the day.
2. Affirmations
Affirmations are positive, present-tense statements that are repeated to oneself to reinforce or instil a particular belief, intention, or thought patterns.
Affirmations are tools that help align one’s mindset with the desired outcome, with the underlying belief that our thoughts and spoken words have power to shape our reality.
(p.s. Positive affirmations can also help you regulate your emotions.)
How to Use Affirmations
- Positive Framing: Affirmations need to be phrased positively. For example, instead of saying “I am not sick”, you should say “I am in perfect health.”
- Present Tense: Affirmations should be stated in the present tense to foster the belief that the desired outcome is occurring now, rather than come distant future. For example, “I am wealthy” instead of “I will be wealthy.”
- Repetition: The power of affirmations come from their repetition. By frequently and consistently reaffirming a particular belief or desire, it will get imprinted onto your subconscious mind, making it more likely to manifest in reality.
- Emotional Resonance: Affirmations are most effective when they resonate emotionally. Just life with visualization, it’s essential to feel the emotion that aligns with the affirmation. Emotion is one of the most important things when it comes to law of attraction and manifestation!
Example Affirmations
Find a few example affirmations below. However, feel free to experiment and create your own!
- I am a magnet for success and prosperity
- Abundance flows freely to me
- Every day, I make choices that lead me closer to my wealth and success
- I have a strong and healthy body. I am in perfect health!
- I am in tune with my body’s needs and I nourish it with love and care
- I radiate positivity and joy, attracting the same energy back into my life
- I am deserving of love and respect, and I attract relationships that mirror this
- I am surrounded by people who uplift and support me
- Love flows freely to and from me
- Wonderful opportunities that align with my desires are all around me
3. Vision Boards
I looove making a vision board! It is one of my favorite manifestation techniques. It’s fun, allows you to be creative, and puts you in a state of play and dreaming!
A vision board is a visual representation of your goals, dreams, and aspirations, typically created by attaching images, phrases, and affirmations onto a board or poster.
My placing the vision board somewhere where it can be frequently seen, it serves as a daily reminder and motivation tool, harnessing the power of visualization to help manifest your desires.
How to Create a Vision Board
You can make a vision board digitally, in a power point document or another digital tool. However, I highly advice to grab a physical notebook or a big piece of paper, pens, markers, magazines, and any other materials that will help you be creative.
This process is best when you create a fun and joyful atmosphere. Lay down on the floor or sit at a table, put on some of your favorite music, and get creative!
Set an intention for your vision board: are you creating a general vision board for the next 3 years, which will cover all areas of your life, or are you only focusing on one aspect of your life – like attracting a dream job?
Once you get clear on your vision board’s intention, follow the below points for the creation:
- Get a big notebook or piece of paper
- Get colorful pens, markers, and pencils
- Get some glue and scissors
- Grab old magazines, newspapers, or pamphlets
- Start cutting out phrases and images that resonate with you, then glue them on your vision board
- Write down or draw out phrases and affirmations
- If you want, you can find pictures on the internet & then print them out & glue them onto your vision board
- Make it as clean, messy, broad, or specific as you want!
I recently created a new vision board myself and I cut out lots of different phrases and pictures from magazines. When I wanted to create my own phrases, I cut out a bunch of separate letters from the magazines & then constructed my own words!
Have fun! Let this vision board be the visual representation of your goals and what you are working on attracting.
4. Meditation and Mindfulness
Meditation and mindfulness are closely aligned with the principles of manifestation and can help you align with the principles of the law of attraction.
When you practice meditation and mindfulness, you allow yourself to align with your desires and strengthen your connection to the Universe.
Why Meditation and Mindfulness Help You Manifest
- Clarity of Desire: Meditation allows for deep self-reflection, helping you identify and clarify what you truly desire. Through focused introspection, you can hone in on what matters most to you and visualize it with greater precision.
- Emotional Alignment: The calm and centered state achieved through meditation facilitates emotional alignment with your desires. This means not only knowing what you want but also feeling the emotions that align with having it. Emotion is a powerful catalyst in the Law of Attraction.
- Elimination of Negative Patterns: Mindfulness encourages an awareness of thought patterns, including those that might be limiting or negative. Recognizing and releasing these patterns can make room for positive thoughts and beliefs that support your manifestations.
- Connection with the Universe or Higher Self: Manifestation is a co-creation with the universe or a higher power. Meditation can foster a deeper connection with these forces, facilitating alignment with your desires.
- Trust and Surrender: A critical aspect of manifestation is trusting that your desires will manifest and surrendering the outcome. Meditation cultivates a sense of trust and surrender by teaching you to let go of control and embrace uncertainty.
5. Gratitude Practice
Gratitude, often described as a feeling of thankfulness or appreciation, plays a significant role in the process of manifestation based on the principles of the Law of Attraction.
A gratitude practice is one of the most powerful of manifestation techniques. Why? Well… the Universe loves it when you are grateful for all that you have in your life. When you’re grateful, it wants to shower you with gifts even more!
An attitude of gratitude connects you with one of the strongest and most powerful emotions: appreciation and love. When you are grateful for all that you have now, and express gratitude for the desires that are about to come, you are in the receiving mode.
After all, why would life want to help you receive your desires if you were miserable, complained, and didn’t appreciate what you already have?!
Start a Gratitude Practice
There are different ways that you can cultivate a gratitude practice. They don’t have to be complex or take a huge chunk of your time. Find 3 of my favorite approaches below.
- Gratitude Journaling: This involves setting aside a few minutes each day to write down things you’re thankful for. It can be specific events from the day or general aspects of your life. Spent 2-5 minutes each day writing down all the things you’re grateful for.
- AM and PM Thank you’s: When you wake up, make it a practice to start your day by listing 3-5 things you’re grateful for. You can either say it out loud or think of them in your mind. Then, do the same thing as you lay in bed at the end of the day.
- Gratitude Walk: This practice is great to incorporate when you want to combine the benefits of physical activity with gratitude. Set out on a walk, preferably in a natural setting like a park, but you can also use this as you walk your dog or make your way to the grocery store. Take note of your environment and the details around you. Observe the birds, the trees, or the joy of children playing in a nearby park. As you notice all of these things on your walk, express silent gratitude for each of them.
6. Scripting
The scripting manifesting technique is a creative and fun method that involves you writing down your desires as if they have already come true. By doing so, you vividly engage your emotions (!) and imagination, making your desires feel more tangible and real.
Grab a piece of paper or a notebook and a pen. Again, you can do this digitally if you prefer, but putting pen to paper is always more powerful!
The idea is that when you script, you write about your desires in the present tense as if they’ve already happened. Remember – your desires aren’t in the future. They are here and now.
How to Script
- Setting the Scene: Choose a comfortable space free from distractions. This could be a quiet room, a cozy corner, or anywhere you feel relaxed and undisturbed.
- Begin Writing: Start by writing down your desires as if you are living in the moment where they’ve already come to fruition. Use the present tense and be as detailed and specific as possible.
- Engage Emotions: As you write, focus on the emotions you’d feel if your desires were your current reality. Whether it’s excitement, joy, gratitude, or relief, delve deep into those feelings and let them flow into your words.
- Be Detailed and Specific: The power of the scripting technique lies in the details. For instance, if you’re scripting about a dream house, don’t just mention its existence. Describe its layout, the color of the walls, the feeling of the flooring beneath your feet, the sounds in the background, the scent in the air, and so forth.
- Revisit and Refine: Over time, your desires and goals might evolve. Regularly revisit your script to refine and add details, ensuring it remains aligned with your heart’s true desires.
I have tens of notebooks laying around of scripted scenarios of what I wanted to manifest. It’s incredibly fun and eye-opening to revisit them years later, because essentially every single thing that I desired came true. (I’m not saying this only for the sake of the article – they really did come true.
7. Acting “As If”
The practice of acting “as if” involves behaving, thinking, and feeling as though you’ve already achieved or received what you desire (see a pattern here? 😉)
By aligning your thoughts, emotions, and actions with the state of your fulfilled desire, you are believed to more effectively attract it into your reality.
I love the way spiritual teacher Esther Hicks (aka Abraham) explains this in terms of a radio. Imagine that your desires are playing on 90.5FM, but you are vibrating at a 101.7AM frequency. You’re not able to receive your desires because your frequency doesn’t match with that of your desires!
You need to align your vibration (aka change your frequency) so it matches with your desires. So… time for some playfulness and good-ol’ acting.
- Think about what you want (for example; being in a relationship) and act as if it’s already manifested!
- When you’re home by yourself, talk to your “imaginary” partner as if they’re there with you.
- As you cook, imagine that you are cooking for you and your partner. Does it change the way you cook & how you approach it?
- Put on some music and dance around in your kitchen. Focus on feeling the love and joy of being in your dream relationship.
I know it sounds silly, but this is one of the most fun (and effective!) manifestation techniques. Get into the feeling of it, get into the playfulness, and ignore your current reality. You really need to put your blinders on with this technique and fully commit to acting as if!
8. Setting Clear Intentions
The practice of setting clear intentions involves precisely defining and focusing on what you truly desire in life, allowing you to channel your energy and actions towards these goals.
Setting an intention is like planting a seed and sending out a signal to the Universe about what you wish to manifest. Think of an intention like a GPS.
You use the GPS to input the exact coordinates of where you want to get to. Then, you know in which direction you need to move.
You can use the clear intentions practice together with visualization or scripting. When you script, be clear on what you want to manifest. For example “I am working at my dream job at [company] in a [position.]
Additionally, you can set daily intentions that can help you align with high vibrations, and thus, with your desires.
- When you wake up in the morning and go through your morning routine (shower, brushing teeth, etc), use this time to set an intention
- You can set an intention for the day itself or for your bigger goals
- For example, you could say “Today I will be filled with enthusiasm and spread kindness wherever I go”, or you could say “Today I will radiate beauty, joy, and confidence”
9. The 55×5 Method
The core idea of the 55×5 manifestation technique is to embed your desires into your subconscious mind, making it more likely to manifest your reality.
Repetition is what helps us form new thoughts and beliefs that last. The more we do something (or think something), the more habitual it becomes.
Therefore, the 55×5 method aims to help you re-wire your mind with more powerful and uplifting beliefs.
How the 55×5 Method Works
- Choose an Affirmation: Begin by choosing a clear and concise affirmation that reflects your desire. Ensure it’s positive and in the present tense, such as “I am financially abundant” or “I am in a loving, committed relationship.”
- Write It Down 55 Times: In a quiet, undisturbed space, write down your chosen affirmation 55 times in one sitting. This repetition is believed to help in impressing the affirmation deeper into your subconscious.
- Repeat for 5 Days: Commit to this practice for five consecutive days, rewriting the affirmation 55 times each day. The discipline and consistency in this act serve to solidify and amplify your intention.
- Feel and Visualize: While writing, it’s crucial to connect with the affirmation emotionally. Feel the emotions you would if your desire was already your reality. Visualize scenarios where the affirmation is true, adding as much detail and emotional depth as possible.
- Release and Trust: After completing the 5-day practice, release your intention to the universe. This means trusting that the universe has heard your desire and will respond in its own perfect timing. Avoid dwelling on doubts or trying to control the outcome.
10. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EDT), commonly referred to as “tapping”, is a psychological acupressure technique that combines principles from traditional Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.
It involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while voicing positive affirmations. At its core, EFT is used to address and clear negative emotions and limiting beliefs. By clearing these blocks, you create a cleaner, more positive vibrational frequency, which aligns more closely with your desires.
Additionally, EFT is renowned for its ability to alleviate stress and anxiety, which are common barriers to effective manifestation. When you’re calm and centred, you’re in a better position to attract your desires,
Lastly, the act of physically tapping while voicing affirmations connects the body to the mind. This integrated approach is believe to make the affirmations more effective and deeply rooted.
It would be hard to write out instructions for someone who has never done EFT. Therefore, I wanted to share with you a video with you from my favorite EFT/tapping teacher – Brad Yates.
I’ve been doing his videos for years and I really like his approach and way of phrasing things. Check out this EFT video “Tapping for Manifestation.” When you get comfortable with how EFT works, you can create your own sequences!
