10 Transformative Books For Personal Growth

No activity in the world, other than therapy, has contributed to my personal growth as much as reading. Absorbing knowledge and wisdom from individuals, for whom it took years if not decades to come to these profound insights, almost feels like cheating.

A few days ago I decided to go through my bookshelves and compile a list of 10 transformative books that have made a profound impact on my life. Some of them focus on psychology or habits, whilst others focus on emotional experiences or attention. All of these books relate to personal growth in one way or another.

I’ve read them all and there is a reason why I’ve put them all in this single “transformative books” list. See which titles stand out to you the most and give them a read!

1. How To Do The Work

“How To Do the Work by Nicole LePera” is a profound and intimate book that delves deep into our inner lives. Dr. Nicole LePera, a holistic psychologist, shares her own transformative journey with the readers. The book offers tools to break free from trauma cycles and establish healthy habits.

In this book you can learn about the connection between mind, body, and soul, gaining insights into topics like trauma, emotional pain, and self-healing. I especially resonated with Dr. LePera’s personal stories and struggles.

As you turn the pages, you’ll discover actionable steps to initiate your own personal growth, fostering a deeper understanding of yourself and a more authentic connection with those around you. I’ve been following Dr. LePera’s work for years and this book is definitely #1 on the transformative books list.

2. Ikigai: The Japanese Secret To a Long and Happy Life

“Ikigai: The Japanese Secret To a Long and Happy Life by Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia” explores the ancient Japanese philosophy of “Ikigai”, a concept that merges passion, mission, vocation, and profession into a singular purpose.

It’s been a decade since I’ve read it and I still continue to use the 5 second rule.
